Goop on Bread, Fresh Green Beans with Bacon and Easy Cheater Cheesecake Pie

This recipe came from my neighbor while growing up. They called it Dinner on a Bun. Well, over the years with the four sons it has been tweaked and now dubbed Goop on Bread.

I promise this will become one of your family's favorites. It is delish.

Let's get started:

Pre-heat oven to 350

2 lbs. of fresh farm grown ground beef.

Add 3/4 C bread crumbs. This is another recipe I just throw together, so I am trying my best to give the right amounts.

Chopped onion.

About 1 -2 t of salt, 1/2 - 1 t pepper and 3 T mustard.

Just dump everything in a bowl.

Add 1 egg.

About 2 - 5 ounces of milk - just enough to keep the mixture together.

1 - 2 C shredded cheddar cheese.

Mix thoroughly.

1 loaf of french bread.

Slice on the diagonal - that gives a little more surface area.

Spoon the burger mixture onto the bread slices and bake in oven until meat is done - about 1/2 hour.

After the burger is cooked, add cheese slices and slide back into the oven for about 5 minutes until cheese melts.

Fresh green beans with bacon is a great compliment to the Goop on Bread.

Wash and cut into bite sized pieces. Add about 1 - 2 T of water in the bottom of your pan. Bring the water to a boil, turn heat off, cover pan and let steam cook until desired tenderness.

Fry 3 - 4 slices of crisply fried bacon. Chop.

Drizzle a little of the bacon drippings over the beans and add the bacon. Salt and pepper.

I consider this a cheater pie. We are using a pre-made crust and even though it's a cheesecake pie, there is no baking - cheating all the way.

1 pkg. cream cheese, 1 can condensed milk, 1 t vanilla, 1/2 C lemon juice.

Dump together and mix.

Use a wisk and notice it looks a little lumpy - sometimes it just turns out that way, but you will never notice it.

Pre-made graham cracker crust.

Fill with mix.

1 Can pie filling of your choice.

Spread over the cream cheese mixture and refrigerate.
I hope you enjoy this meal as much as we do over here - hardly a leftover with this one.
