There are 9 million dairy cows in the USA which is 30 million LESS than we had 50 years ago. We make more milk now than 50 years ago and most of this is due to the embracing of technological advances in the dairy industry. This has a tremendous positive environmental impact because we can make more milk feeding, housing and disposing of the manure of far fewer cows.
