Spring is coming, so they say. In the meantime we have
manure to haul and a whole lot of it.
One of our Slurrystores holds 2.3 million gallons of manure.
The girls have been busy all winter filling it.
It’s hard for me to understand what 2.3 million is.
So, I decided to do a little comparison and what I call
exchange.
See that red spreader in the picture? It would take 306.67 full to empty the Slurrystore.
Using an average car, filling it up with a 16 gallon tank we could fill 143,750 cars.
Using an average car, filling it up with a 16 gallon tank we could fill 143,750 cars.
We could fill 73,016 barrels (fluid barrel - 31.5 gallon sized) or 54,762 barrels (oil barrel - 42 gallon) and 76,667 average bathtubs. (all of these comparisons are with the average size of the item).
If you needed your Olympic sized pool filled, we could fill
3 ½ pools.
69,697 top loading (32.9 gallon) or 51,111 (45 gallon) washing machines could be filled.
Instead of soda in 16 ou. bottles we could fill 18,400,000.
We could fill 1 ½ to 2 water towers.
If we drank manure we could serve 36,800,000 people one cup instead of coffee.
Last one. If the manure was put in one gallon jugs and each person was standing side by side (using 3 feet of space), we could make a line 1306 miles long. We could make a line from Grand Rapids, MI to Miami or Salt Lake City as the crow flies.
