Celebrate 15! We've been hearing about July 12, 2014 for over a year from the daughter of one of our employees. Today is her
quinceañera.
One of the most important celebrations in Mexican culture is the tradition of the quinceañera. This constitutes a ceremony on a girl's fifteenth birthday to mark her passage to womanhood, to give thanks to God for his blessings, and to present a young woman to the community.
We will be going to the big celebration which includes mass (which will probably be in Spanish and I've never been to a mass before - we aren't Catholic), dinner and dance. They say up to 500 could attend. We love being included and pray her day is special.
