Leaving on a Jet Plane - Privately

This is the private corporate jet we hitched a ride with. This belongs to JCB. This company makes loaders (wheeled; backhoe, skid steer), excavators (mini, midi; tracked, wheeled), telescopic handlers, rough terrain forklifts and high speed tractors. We were heading for Savannah Georgia to their plant for a tour.

We were able to by pass the regular terminal and zip into this little hanger.

This was one of our pilots. I asked him if he was able to at least know what 80% of these buttons were for and he said he thought he could. I then said "That's good enough for me, let's go."

Farmer and I went with 7 others - mostly farmers. We knew them from our distant area - all great men. And  yes, I was the only woman on the trip except a very lovely, skinny flight attendant - drat! The jet seated 9 with one flight attendant and 2 pilots.

We had a screen that displayed our location, our path, the temperature at our destination, in the air, how long and etc.

We had a great view.

As you can see we had 169 miles left to go. The outside temperature got as low as -74. And we flew over 500 mph.

The plant.

A fun ride with information below.

A look into the plant from the balcony and as usual pictures can't capture the vastness.

This is a military piece of equipment they construct.

After our tour we had a delicious lunch and then off to the sand box to play.

We relaxed in an air conditioned room and watched while all these machines were demonstrated and then everyone could go out and drive each and every one. The men were drooling all over themselves.

This one is a circus backhoe and can do tricks - HA!

While the men played with toys - I purposely didn't drive anything knowing that if I showed Farmer I could then I would be expected to use it at home. I'm getting smarter as I age. So while they played I wandered out into the woods.

There were trees with green leaves and it was hot! It was glorious! I could have spent the whole afternoon there - until I started to wonder if there were any poisonous snakes I should be concerned about.

We headed back home around 3:30 or so and arrive 1 and 1/2 hours later.

I definitely think I could become accustomed to this life.

If any of you are interested in any of these great machines - contact AIS in Grand Rapids - http://www.aisequip.com/contact or call and ask for Allen - tell him I sent you - if I get any kick back I'll split it with you. Seriously, we have this equipment and are very satisfied with it,
