Chocolate Oat Squares
These are so yummy! They will become one of your favorites.
Preheat oven to 350.
Soften 1 Cup butter
Cream 2 C brown sugar with the softened butter.
Add and mix in 2 eggs and 2 t vanilla
Add and mix together 2 1/2 C flour, 1 t salt and 1 t soda.
Mix in 3 C Oatmeal. I use Old Fashioned Oats. Once it is all
mixed together set aside.
In a bowl, melt and mix together 1 can condensed milk - 14 ou.,
2 C chocolate chips, 2 T butter and 1/2 t salt.
It should look like this after melted and mixed. Now I warn
you, do not taste or you will have to make another batch.
Press 2/3 of the oat mixture into a greased 15 X 10 inch baking
dish or pan.
Spread all of the chocolate over the pressed mixture. I know you
ate some! Then sprinkle in clumps the remaining 1/3 oat mixture
over the top of the chocolate layer.
Bake about 20 - 25 minutes. Don't over bake. In fact, I usually
take it out when it first starts to brown.
Make sure it isn't totally raw.
Make sure you let this cool enough so that you don't burn your
mouth. I know it will be hard, but exert self control.
